5 Budget-Friendly Fitness Tips

What if achieving your fitness and health goals didn’t have to involve spending crazy amounts of money on gym memberships or personal trainers. Well lucky for you, we’ve compiled a short list of our top 5 budget-friendly fitness tips:

  1. Hiking Trails

There’s nothing quite like getting outdoors amongst nature, especially as the weather is starting to warm up! So why not make the most of the stunning South Australian landscape and set off on a hike. Some of our favourites include Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty, Morialta Falls Plateau Hike, Chambers Hike and the Waite Conservation Reserve Loop Walking Trail.

  1. Park Run

Park Run is a free organised 5km event that takes place all around the world…and the great part is you don’t even have to be a runner! Park Run encourages people of every athletic ability to particiapnt, from walkers to Olympic runners! Head to their website to register (Park Run is currently suspended due to COVID-19, but keep an eye on their website for future details).

  1. Outdoor Gyms

Ever wondered whether you could actually get a decent workout from those outdoor park gyms? Well, you can! We’ve found this great website that displays the nearest park gyms to you. Simply create a mini circuit involving the equipment available and you’ll wonder why you hadn’t done it earlier!

  1. Mix up your Commute

Ever considered walking to work or getting off the bus one stop earlier? Studies have shown that walking is one of the easiest and achievable ways of staying fit. Just 10 minutes of brisk walking each day will help improve your health and create long-lasting healthy habits.

  1. Try before you Buy

It’s that time of the year where every second person is talking about their new fitness regime and signing up to a new gym. However, more often than not, we find ourselves trapped in these expensive lock-in contracts without actually enjoying the workouts. That’s why it’s really important to try before you buy! Most fitness classes/gyms will have an introductory offer or free trial which is a great way to test the waters before locking anything in. If you’re in Adelaide and looking to expand your fitness repertoire, some of our favourites are: KX Pilates, Body Fit, The Fit Space, Be Fit, Three Pillar Coaching and Studio 360 Cycle
